Halstead Senior Club was originally set up as the “Monday Club” in 1959, when it was generally agreed that there was a need for the senior people in Halstead to be able to come together, if they wished, for the purpose of enjoyment. To date, the membership has grown to 43, with members not only coming from Halstead, but also from Knockholt, Sevenoaks, Dunton Green, Badgers Mount and Riverhead. We are an extremely friendly group and welcome new members. It always seems to me that the club has an extended family atmosphere.
We offer a full programme of speakers, entertainment or occasional games, quizzes, etc. We always try to ensure that we hold four luncheons per year, including a Birthday Party and a Garden Party. We have an Annual trip to the seaside and always try to listen to our members’ wishes and incorporate them. The Club is run on a voluntary basis by a team of seven, plus cake makers from the village. We are very fortunate to have the support of the village, the Parish Church, the Local Store and the Rose & Crown and its customers.
