Our Brownies are currently working towards their 'Right Now!' badges.
Right Now! is a world-wide Girl-Guiding initiative that hopes to inspire the girls to not only discover 'rights' but also to take action on issues affecting them, their community and the world. The underlying theme is to raise their awareness of issues, encourage them to take action and to reflect on what they have learned and achieved. Their participation is recognised by a badge, which is linked to each of the six rights explored. There is a different badge for each right and, because the rights are linked, the badges have been designed so that they too link together.
The six different themes are :
The right to be happy
The right to be heard
The right to be me
The right to learn
The right to live in peace
The right to work together
Last month we also painted plates for Mother's Day and learnt a few new games.
